I am deeply passionate about the transformative power of the arts to foster personal growth and drive positive change. As a creative producer, facilitator, and LAMDA drama teacher, my work is dedicated to celebrating untold stories, challenging prejudice, and creating impactful artistic experiences.
My journey began with a BA (Hons) in Professional Acting from LAMDA, where I graduated in 2011. This foundation led to a diverse career in regional, national, and international theatre, including notable productions such as Edward II at the National Theatre, These Shining Lives at Park Theatre, The Little Prince at the Lyric Belfast, Old Vic 24 Hour Plays, and Arcadia at the Lyric Hammersmith.
Driven by a passion for inclusive practice and community engagement, I transitioned to roles focused on creating supportive environments that foster meaningful artistic experiences. In 2017, I pursued a Master’s in Inclusive Arts Practice at the University of Brighton, where my research at LAMDA explored the creative exchange between performers with learning disabilities and recent drama school graduates. This research inspired the founding of This New Ground.
This New Ground is dedicated to removing barriers and enhancing access for people with learning disabilities to lead, create, and participate in the arts. Under my leadership, the organization has evolved from a local community choir into a vibrant network of creative projects co-led by learning-disabled individuals across West London and Portsmouth City. I have been instrumental in establishing partnerships with mainstream arts organisations, creating platforms for learning-disabled artists to showcase their work, and developing a collaborative leadership model. My efforts have secured funding from bodies such as Arts Council England, the National Lottery Community Fund, and Heritage Fund, as well as corporate partnerships with Lush. I have also conducted national and international research to advance inclusive theatre practices, including research secondments with Compagnie de l’Oiseau-Mouche in France and Back to Back Theatre in Australia, supported and funded by the British Council and Creative Europe.
In addition to my work in inclusive arts, I am committed to nurturing the next generation of performers as a LAMDA drama teacher. I guide students in developing their communication, performance, and self-expression skills, with a special focus on supporting those with special educational needs and neurodiversity. My extensive experience in inclusive settings equips me to effectively teach students with diverse needs, ensuring that all can thrive in the arts and reach their full potential.
